Weekend in Wroclaw

During the weekend in Wroclaw we visit the historic town of Ostrow Tumski, watch "Panorama Raclawicka" and we leave on a trip to one of the attractive places in Lower Silesia. It is also a great place for a weekend of opera. Wroclaw Opera is known worldwide for its superproductions.

 

 

Day 1 Thursday

Arrival in Wroclaw. Hotel accommodation and dinner in the Old Town.

 

Day 2 Friday

Visiting Wroclaw. Market, University with one of the most beautiful baroque halls of Europe, Aula Leopoldina. Centennial Hall (UNESCO World Heritage List) , the Japanese garden and buildings of architectural exhibitions of 1928. Free time for shopping and individual sightseeing.

 

Day 3 Saturday

Tour around Wroclaw, according to one of the options:

  • Swidnica with one of the largest wooden churches in Europe, the Church of Peace (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the largest castle in Lower Silesia Ksiaz;
  • Cistercian Monastery in Lubiaz and Minor Basilica of Saint Hedwig grave in Trzebnica;
  • Zagan with Prisoners of War Martyrdom Museum, a place where from the POW camp for pilots of the RAF happened the famous "Great Escape" in 1944.

After returning from a trip opera or operetta performance in Wroclaw Opera or Musical Theatre. Repertoire sites www.opera.wroclaw.pl and www.teatr-capitol.pl.

 

Day 4 Sunday

Walking tour to National Museum Branch "Raclawice Panorama", one of the main tourist city attractions, a picture of the battle of Raclawice during the Kosciuszko Uprising in 1794. With the ticket of "Panorama" we can visit the National Museum in Wrocław.
