Weekend in Szczecin
Szczecin is next to Gdansk and Gdynia, a large port city. It is a city on the European route brick Gothic monuments. It is close to the island of Wolin and the seaside resorts Międzyzdroje and Swinoujscie. The former seat of the Dukes of Pomerania, with an interesting urban layout and its famous sights.
Day 1 Thursday
Arrival in Szczecin. Accommodation at the hotel and dinner in fish restaurant on a barge moored at the Boulevard John of Kolno.
Day 2 Friday
Visiting Szczecin. Port Gate, Castle of the Dukes of Szczecin, Cathedral of the Holy. James, Sienna Square. Excursion by ship and the sight-seeing of Szczecin harbour.
Day 3 Saturday
Fixed Option
Tour the Maritime Museum and the Underground Tourist Route, the best Polish tourist product in 2008. Trip to the Szczecin Landscape Park. Walk to Beech Mountain and around Emerald Lake.
Cruise Option
Cruise by flying boat Szczecin-Swinoujscie (from April to October). Tours of Swinoujscie, visit the Fisheries Museum. Opportunity to visit neighboring Ahlbeck with interesting architecture and pier with a length of 280 meters. To Ahlbeck and two other coastal resorts on the island of Usedom, we can take the bus, "European Line" No. 290/291. About 16:30 flying boat starts for its return journey to Szczecin.
The artistic season - from September to June the opportunity to participate in the performance of Opera in the Castle. Repertoire available at www.opera.szczecin.pl.
Day 4 Sunday
Visiting the Museum of Technology and Communications - Depot Arts or the National Museum in Szczecin. Departure from the city. Airport Goleniow allows tourists to visit Ireland, the UK and Norway. Frequent train connections every day, and buses from and to Berlin.
