Auschwitz-Birkenau 5 days

The Welcome Tourist program presents the fullest Krakow and its monuments and Holocaust themes. Four nights and a rich program of alternative variants allowing to know better Galicia and its tourist attractions.

 

 

Day 1

Arrival in Krakow in the afternoon. Lunch in the restaurant and then a tour of Nowa Huta, the district built in the 50s of the twentieth century, in the monumental soc-realist style. Visiting the Ark of the Lord, the famous church in Nowa Huta. Dinner at the hotel.

 

Day 2

Visiting Krakow. The former Jewish district Kazimierz and the Schindler’s Factory Museum, illustrating times of war and occupation in Krakow. Lunch in a restaurant. Walking chambers or apartments of the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill. Free time and dinner at the Old Town restaurant.

 

Day 3

Departure to Oświęcim and visit of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum. Packed lunch or dinner in a restaurant. Drive to and visit the Wieliczka underground tourist route in the famous Salt Mine (UNESCO list). Dinner at Mine and return to Krakow.

 

Day 4

Full day excursion to Zakopane. Visit of The Tatra Museum and the Highlander's market, mountain train ride to Gubałówka, walk to and ride down from Butorowy Peak by chairlift. Visiting the shrine of Fatima in Krzeptówki and the Chapel in Jaszczurowka. Drive along the hill slopes. Back to Krakow. Dinner at the "Fantasy Park" and the bowling competition.

 

Alternative:

Trip to the Pieniny National Park and rafting on the Dunajec River, one of the biggest Polish tourist attractions. In fine weather, a visit to the historic wooden church in Debno, the object from the list of World Cultural Heritage UNESCO.

 

Day 5

A visit to a large shopping centre and the departure from Krakow.
